The most expansive collection of Robert Duncan Milne’s works ever published.

Available now through Bloomsbury Academic!

Robert Duncan Milne was one of the most imaginative and groundbreaking writers in history. He was one of the earliest writers of science fiction—and almost certainly the first to make his living from writing it.

Then he vanished from literary history.

Why? Milne only published his nearly 100 stories in the disposable newspapers of 19th century San Francisco. His scandalous personal life and his sudden, tragic end at the hands of a cable car also worked to deny him his rightful place in the science fiction canon.

For over 120 years, Milne’s works have been lost to the general public. I have been working with Dr. Keith Williams to bring many of these stories into the public consciousness for the very first time.

 FAQs

  • I sadly do not set the price; it is set by the publisher. As an academic hardback, it is priced primarily for institutions like university libraries. I completely understand this makes individual purchases cost-prohibitive. My dearest hope is that the book sells well enough to convince them to come out with a more affordable paperback version!

  • The best way to access the book is to request it through your local library, university, or other institution. Many libraries are happy to order academic titles upon request at no personal cost to you. I sincerely hope you will try this out for yourself!
